SECOND CROSS BORDER MEETING AND THE THEMATIC WORKSHOP

The UBBSLA hosted the second cross border meeting which was held on 26-28 November 2014 in Varna, Bulgaria. The project partners were gathered on the focus for discussion of the nine pilot tourist objects to be developed in the partner countries and promoted through the promotional spot, the travel aider and the open street museum...
The tourist routes in the countries encompass a variety of activities and initiatives related with visiting places of cultural and historic heritage. The participants discussed the concept of the establishment of the Open Street Museum and the production of the Promotional Spot exploring the ninth pilot projects and their application in the partner countries. The multiplicative effect will be exposed by dissemination of the project outcomes to the local stakeholders, local communities thus achieving a public recognition at cross border level. Special attention was devoted to the ongoing interactive training of experts and specialists of heritage planning, methodologies and practices for historic and culture heritage in the Black Sea region THEMATIC STIDY TOUR IN VARNA
The participants had the chance to be acquainted with some of the spots united in the Bulgarian pilot project and to get introduced to the specificity of the local concept. They visited the old Varna Museum and have been introduced with the historic and cultural development of Varna in the last two centuries. The sightseeing tour continued with visit of Museum History of Varna where the project partners learned more about the industrial and economic revolution and revival of Varna as important transport centre. They passed through the Roman Baths, a remarkable signage for pre-historic occupation and a remembrance of the ancient history and culture Varna has inherited. The Historic Museum of Varna was also explored where the attendants could see ancient expositions as well as the oldest Golden treasure found in the world.
PRESS CONFERENCE
Press- conference was given at the meeting by Mariana Ivanova as the project coordinator and Elena Simeonova as the cultural planner of UBBSLA. the IPA Beneficiary. The representing project partners reported the project activities and pointed out the pilot project “Hundred years in 60 minutes” which is to be implemented in Varna. They answered the specific questions concerning the pilot projects and actual results that shall be achieved within the partner area.
PROMOTIONAL SPOT & E-book
The ALECTOR promotional spot and the E-book will be a virtual environment that will be explored by the potential beneficiaries. The e-Book which is to be produced for iOs and Android operation systems and the multivision for the heritage area are representative for the Project’s cultural heritage identity. The technical specifications for the production of these outputs will be determined according to the project manual. The idea of Marco Polo to connect the route with the Argonauts is an asset which has to be considered for the thematic project tour which is to be the main informative message.
BLACK SEA HERITAGE OBSERVATORY
The project legacy upon its completion will be managed by the Black Sea heritage Observatory which is to be established according to the Bulgarian law as an NGO in Varna, Bulgaria. The major issue of the protection, conservation, management and interpretation and economic maximization of the wider heritage environment has to be communicated to the academic community, key players and the general public. By project completion the Black Sea Heritage Observatory will have attracted as members at least 180 multilevel actors bound to it by nonStatutory Co-operation Agreements. These actors from the 3 spheres state, society will have access to project results and to praxis validated planning and management tools. They thus facilitate post project operations and viability of project results inspiring similar future actions and follow-up projects in the Cooperation Area.
PARTNERSHIP
The ENPI CBC BS JOP Project ALECTOR will involve actors from various administrative and social levels, so as to strengthen their capacity to effectively manage heritage for tourism. These collaborative networks will deliver three main outcomes: a) (re) activation of human capital by intense know-how transfer of innovative practices -directly deriving from research conducted, b) local authority empowerment by diffusing policies regarding heritage management and tourism planning and c) the development of local and regional strategic partnerships. By delivering local and regional strategic partnerships, ALECTOR encourages various action groups to cooperate, bring together key organizations, stakeholders and actors, from the three spheres of state, market and civil society, to identify further needs and priorities.
